"With the music moves the listener in the ideal world, the world of our desires and dreams, our ideas of perfection, free from affliction, which suffers from the external world around us, a world unknown to the experience of everyday life. [...] The world is characterized by vast and varied wealth of emotions and feelings, not free from heart-wrenching moments, but always involving anyone who is able to reach the world by listening to music"
PROJECT

INTERNATIONAL LUTOSŁAWSKI YOUTH ORCHESTRA for the third time will give you the opportunity to discover the music of the 20th century.
The project of the international youth orchestra has been realised since 2013, when the whole world celebrated the Year of Lutoslawski. Since then, ILYO and its members have discovered the unusual and innovative creativity of the orchestra patron.

So far, nearly 150 young musicians from Poland, Germany and Great Britain participated in the two previous editions. Their concerts altogether gathered the audience of ca. 3,000 people. During this year's edition you will learn how the individual and unique composing style of Witold Lutoslawski had emerged.
Like the Project Patron himself, you will search yourself for sensitivity to new chords. Under the supervision of renowned musicians, you will discover the extraordinary possibilities of your instrument.

As part of ILYO, you will challenge yourself to perform "Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta" by Béla Bartók and "Funeral Music" by Witold Lutoslawski.

On the way to professional performance and brilliant interpretation, you will be supported by:
Adam Wagner – first violin
Eva Thorarinsdottir - second violin
Ilkka Uurtimo – cello
Piotr Szumieł – viola
Roberto Carrillo-Garcia – bass
Miłosz Pękala - percussion, piano, celesta, harp
Paweł Heindrich - lectures on creating new music
Michał Moc - workshops on musical imagination
Ewa Strusińska – conductor

The final concert will be an opportunity to play on the main stage of the Szczecin Philharmonic. The symphony hall, famous for its excellent acoustics, is the heart of the instrument – the magnificent Philharmonic Hall itself. During the first year of operation in the new building, the institution has won multiple prestigious awards and distinctions, including the Mies van der Rohe Award 2015 – the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture.
