He finished the Karol Szymanowski Music High School in Warsaw in 1985 in the percussion class of professor Henryk Mikołczyk and began education at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music the same year in the Orchestra Instruments Department, where he continued to learn how to play percussion under professor Edward Iwicki and Henryk Mikołajczyk, receiving his diploma in 1989.
He had already begun his artistic activity during his college days. From 1989-1981 he cooperated with Teatr Wielki under Robert Satanowski, taking part in many opera productions and world tours. At the same time he was invited to cooperate with the Warsaw Philharmonic and the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
He was timpanist and orchestra inspector of the Camerata Academia operating at the FCAM since 1990. He has been invited to cooperate as a timpanist and percussionist by many orchestras. He presented himself as a chamber musician during the festivals Warsaw Autumn and Young Composers’ Forum, as well as in the percussion ensembles Warsaw Percussion Group (Warszawska Grupa Perkusyjna) and Young Percussion Studio.
Work with theatrical performances played a huge part in his professional development. From 1985-1993 he cooperated with such theaters as: the Dramatic Theatre, Studio Theatre, Ateneum Theatre, Rampa Theatre, Prezentacje Theatre, Mały Theatre, Komedia Theatre, taking part in numerous performances where leading Polish actors played. This work allowed him to gain experience in the diverse field of art and to apply this as an orchestra musician.
Apart from symphonic and chamber music, he has played jazz and popular music, as well as participating in many tours and recording sessions with leading Polish musicians.
Moreover, he is also a teacher, giving lectures at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music (2006-2009), as well as leading a percussion class at the Karol Szymanowski Music School Complex no 4 in Warsaw (1990-1993 and later again from 2004). In 1993 director Franciszek Wybrańczyk invited him to an ongoing cooperation with the orchestra Sinfonia Varsovia where he has been a full-time timpanist and percussionist.
Over the years he has given over 1000 concerts both in Poland and abroad, performing unusually rich symphonic and chamber repertoires in the most renown concert halls in the world: Carnegie Hall, Theatre de Champs-Elysees, Barbican Centre, Teatro Colon, Sydney Opera House, Suntory Hall.
His artistic works encompass over 60 albums recorded with Sinfonia Varsovia for a variety of international labels, including complete symphonies by Beethoven and Schubert, and overtures by Rossini and Mozart under Lord Yehudi Menuhin.
Thanks to his engagement with Sinfonia Varsovia, he has had the opportunity to work with such great conductors and soloists as Yehudi Menuhin, Witold Lutosławski, Jacek Kaspszyk, Jan Krenz, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Grzegorz Nowak, Krzysztof Penderecki, Jean Pierre Rampal, Mścisław Rostropowicz, Jerzy Semkow, Martha Argerich, James Galway, Nigel Kennedy, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Nelson Freire and Shlomo Mintz.
In 2007 he was co-creator of the popular youth ensemble Szymanowski Big Band, with which he achieved spectacular artistic successes. In 2012 he was invited to become the artistic manager of Warsaw’s Fryderyk Chopin Music University Big Band. In september 2013 he established Szymanowski Young Power, a youth big band at the Karol Szymanowski Music School Complex no 4 in Warsaw.
In 2000 he co-created the Sinfonia Varsovia Foundation and from 2003 was its vice-president and since 2007 has been the president, dealing with concert organisation and promotion of the orchestra.
In 2014 was honoured with a medal of merit - Zasłużony dla Warszawy -  for his work.
